Fiji Trade and Investment
Temperatures usually range from 68°F to 90°FTourism is now the most significant indurstry with around 350,000 visitors per year. Many overseas visitors are acquiring freehold lots to build homes or have as an investment. Freehold land is, indeed, a precious commodity in the South Pacific. According to a recent Island Business magazine article "now a new wave of settler is moving into the islands, drawn by the prospect of a different future there. Surrounded with coconut plantations, untouched rainforests and fringed by miles of unsullied coastal coral reef and sand." The great majority of land is held in perpetual trust for the Fijian people and only 8% has freehold title that can be bought and resold. The Fiji Trade and Investment Board offers an exciting range of incentives and concessions to encourage foreign investment.
